My opinion of this article is that it is good because  it is written to encourage students to be more then they are trying to be. I really like this article because many people  quit when the going gets rough and don't decide to graduate from High School the dropouts mess up there future and grow up to be depressed and lonely when they could of contributed way more to society. What the teacher is trying to say is that he wants all his students to succeed and not become the "drags" in his society. He wants them to be the brilliant minds that are suppose to help are society advance both politically and technologically. In my own words, the "main event" is the the finals that the students are facing and stressing out about so the teacher is trying to calm his students nerves.

3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend. Go.

My 3 day weekend was fun because of all the things I got to do. The first night, Friday night, was really relaxing because all I  had to do was relax and watch my favorite TV show I am currently watching, Supernatural. I love this show because of all the action and how mythical creatures like demons and angels come to life. On Saturday, I was way busier because I got to go back to my favorite camp, Camp Naish, and help perform the new brotherhood script for a time estimate and right after that I got to help perform an OA Callout Ceremony for a troop in Trails West district. When I got back from camp I went immediately to a BBYO(Jewish Group event) with my friend Dean and Louie and got to do crazy things like sock wrestling. What sock wrestling is is a competition between two people to get the opponents sock of before he gets yours, I got to the championships and lost to my friend Louie, who is really strong. On Sunday, I went home and watched more Supernatural and this continued all day Monday.

If images are on the internet they should be "free game".


I highly disagree with this statement because some photos people make are really hard to make so you would be stealing someone else's work. Also, if you believe that every photo is "free game" than you have  no clue how to make a photo yourself and wouldn't have that skill yourself(Photoshop). Some images although are alright to copy because they are taken by professionals who already have copyright laws on there photos because it is there job. These photos usually turn out looking awesome and are great photos to use on what you need. How you can tell if it is a professional photo is by researching the author of the picture to make sure it is already copyrighted so you are not stealing someone's work.

Blog Post of the Day:
Reflect on your resume website.

My resume website was awful because I didn't have my nav bar sticking because I didn't know about it. Also, I feel like I totally flunked the project because I am an awful coder and my grade was a very low C. This class is a very fun class but I don't understand some of the key points that a student must know in order to be able to succeed. If I got another shot at this website I would have done a lot better because I would have used my time more wisely. When I originally finished this website I felt pretty good about it but at the end of the day I still was missing key features and got a bad grade to hugely affect my overall grade point average. I need to learn from this complete failure and have to make a better website in the future in order to excel in this class and life. I will make sure to add some "dazzle" next time so that I can do better grade wise and make myself not feel like a complete idiot. I will make sure also to make a better color scheme and have better information the teacher will enjoy. Hopefully next time I have to answer I question like this again I will be more positive about my experience.

What's the coolest thing you've learned in Web Design so far? Why is it so cool and how can it help you in the future?

The coolest thing that I have learned in Web Design is how to code information into your website. I think that this is cool because since I know how to put information into a website I can inform people about topics that I feel are important like Doctor Who or background information about me. This benefits me in the future because it allows me to make useful websites like my resume to be more in control of job opportunities. Also, this is good because with being able to write information I can campaign fro a political position or make people more aware of issues like STD's.

Define 'User Experience'. What does it mean and how does it relate to web design? Explain yourself.

The definition of user experience involves a person's behavior, attitudes, and emotions about a particular product, system, or service. What it means is "what is a persons reaction to your website?" Are they learning about you and having fun while doing it? This relates to web design because without are websites being used by users are websites would have no purpose. For example, in class we are starting to make a resume website. This is helpful because this allows future employers and colleges to know more about us while not being bored just reading are credentials off of paper. It allows us to be different then other appliers in a positive way that are applier will like to see. We make websites for users to see and have fun with and without user use we would have no point in making websites like are resume website.

What is a resume website? What do people put on resume websites. Spend about 5-10 minutes looking up resume websites and what they are used for. Explain what you find. Include an image of a resume website if possible.

A resume website is a page created by a person looking for a job to show people his credentials more easily then with paper. A option that the user has when creating a resume website is to show former awards, job experience, profession, opinion on certain issues, and extra curricular activities like coaching. This is helpful to people that are looking for someone to hire because it allows them to see a persons credentials more fun than everyone else's resume and make the person hiring know more information about the person that's job seeking then a regular resume displays. I saw when researching that a resume website usually consists of useful information that has fun interactive activities that teach you more about the person the websites about.

What are you doing for Spring Break?

Spring Break is going to be so much fun because I get to go to represent the school and go to chess state! I am looking forward to this because it is the first time I ever have gone to state. I am practicing in order to do the best I can in the tournament. I also get the benefit of going to comi con at Bartle Hall this Sunday. I am looking forward to this as well because I get to see lots of cool Doctor Who stuff and pokemon art. There will also be some amazing actors that have acted in Doctor Who and lots of cool costumes. The rest of break I will probably just do my scouting work and sleep in.

Who do you look up to in your life? Why do you look up to them? Tell me about them and some of their characteristics that you admire.

In my life, the person I look up to the most is my BBBS brother, Carl. I look up to him because he sets a good example for me to follow. He helps me whenever I am having a trouble in life and knows exactly what to say when I need advice. Carl is a very awesome guy is a a computer programmer for Cerner and  is a proud fan of Doctor Who. If I had never met him I would have never watched Doctor Who. I admire his loyalty, respect, perseverance, respect, and his optimistic personality. Without Carl in my life I would have no example to follow and I would be very immature and disrespectful. I owe Carl a lot for his perseverance on never giving up on me when times were tough.

Tell me about your weekend.

My weekend was horrible because my uncle Steve died and my Grandma went to the hospital because she has a blatter infection. I had to miss school Friday in order to go up to Omaha to see my Uncle Steve's funeral. It was very sad because he was a very inspirational person who always made my day and he had been living handicapped since he was 19 years old thanks to a car crash that made him immobilized for life. During the weekend, I had delicious food from various restaurants  and got to buy chocolate at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and get Ice Cream. The whole weekend, I had to spend my nights sleeping on a very uncomfortable couch and got to see my awesome cousin Ben. We got back yesterday and I finished my Website for Web Design.

If you were the Principal for a week at BVHS, what would that look like? What changes would you make? Why?

If I was the principal of BVHS for a week what I would do is get better food in the cafeteria and allow longer passing periods. I would make the cafeteria have better food because sometimes I get cookies and stuff that are under cooked or over cooked. I would allow longer passing periods because I feel that with longer passing periods students can make more friends without having to rush to class. Another change I would make to the school is I would allow 2 winners for the daily 10 dollar Tuesday to encourage students to do there work and have a better chance to win 10 dollars. This is all the changes I would make if I was the school principal for a week.

My weekend was very long because of staying up late and going to places like the mall. On Friday night, I went to Mi Ranchito and ate some delicious chips and salsa. I also has some amazing quesidillas and when me and my mom were done we went home and caught up on sleep. When we awoke on Saturday morning, I had the privilege to go to Costco and get a smoothie and slice of pizza. It was Delicious! Later that day, I got to go to the mall with my best friend Dean and we walked around looking at cool electronics and clothing.  After the mall, I got to go to the movie theaters and saw the new Spongebob movie. I liked it because of all the characters that teamed together to accomplish one goal of getting back the Krabby Patty secret formula. On Sunday, we went to a Purim carnival at my religious Synagogue and got to eat delicious kosher hot dogs and chips. We left and went home and I worked on my homework for the rest of the night.

This weekend was very productive because of homework and scouting. On Friday night, I went to my middle school for my scouting's Den Chief responsibility. I watched Webelos cross over to Troop 92 and get there Arrow of Light and watched the speaker cry while they crossed over to Boy Scouts. I also hung with my Spanish teacher during the Blue and Gold ceremonies and we joked around about people at school. On Saturday morning, I went to the yearly Scout Shabbat at Beth Shalom and watched some of my friends get there Jewish Ner Talmid award. In the afternoon, I biked around the neighborhoods and hung out with a friend of mine. The next day, I got to hang with my BBBS brother Carl and we went to Take Five and I did homework. When I got home, I did more homework and ate a delicious dinner made by my mom.

The perfect set of classes that could prepare me for life is Reading, Math, Social Studies, Foreign languages (Spanish and Mandarin Chinese), Science, Technology, and Acting Classes. I would study all of these courses because they are a good educational basis to prepare you for the future. In each class, I would do nothing during the time except study the subject that I am in class learning about and I would study these subjects outside of school to help my learning foundation. These classes are not very different from what I take now because these classes are the basis for all of education, in my opinion. Also, since these are classes I am actually able to take this allows me to excel in my future!

Color can convey a lot of emotion when it comes to designing anything from a product to a website to an advertisement to a logo and so much more. What do you think the importance of colors on a website are? What is a color scheme and why is it important to have when designing? Explain any thoughts you might have around color in design.

I think that the importance of colors on a website is to show a person that your website is not boring. Color dazzles your website and makes people more aware of the information of your website. If there was no color, people would get bored on your website and not be interested in the information that you want them to know. A color scheme is a pattern of colors that a programmer can add to his website. This is important because with a pattern scheme your website looks more presentable to readers and you don't have random colors distracting the reader from the information your presenting. My only thoughts on color design is it adds a lot of spunk to a website and makes sure that your reader is just looking at a black and white article because it's no fun!

Think about the quote above. What does this mean to you? How could this apply to your life? How could this apply to your school work (especially Web Design!)?  I would love to give you less work in class if it meant you were going to focus harder on the work. Do you think you would get more out of it? Would that work for you? Why or why not?

This is a very interesting quote because it talks about how more a person has to work with less focus. It says this because it implies that if you have more focus you will get work done easier. What this quote means to me is that if I focus more in class I will not have to work as hard to complete worksheets and projects for the class I am in because I would already have experience for what is needed to get done. This applies to my school work by saying that if I focus more I can get better grades in my classes. If we got less work in class I think this would hurt us because I believe people would use this class as "homework time" instead of focusing on what they need to get done. This although would work for me because I know that I would get the class work done first and the homework done second.

My weekend was new because I got to go skiing with my boy scout troop for the first time up at Snow Creek. On Friday, we arrived at Snow Creek, we set up camp by building tents and making hot chocolate. The next morning, I went through a skiing lesson that taught me how to ski and earned my snow sports merit badge. I skied on some high slopes with my friend Amit and got to ride on a lift for my first time. It was amazing! When I got home I showered and got to rest up from the tiresome ski trip. On Sunday, I watched some TV and played some video games on my Xbox 360 and Ipad. Later, I read a couple chapters of "To Kill a Mockingbird" for my homework and went to bed for school the next day.

What's the coolest thing you've learned in this class so far this year? Now that you have a little knowledge, what do you want to learn that you don't know how to do yet?

This class has been very interesting because it has taught me to code with CSS and HTML and has let me applied it by creating websites about me and my interesting life. The coolest thing I have learned in this class is that I could change the layout of my website. I can make my website look exactly what I want it to look like with nice font and pretty colors. In the future, what I want to learn is how to use Python in Code Academy. I think it would be cool to be able to learn Python coding because I can do more things with my coding skills!

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me all about your Sweetheart weekend (even if you sat at home on the couch!). Include photos!

My Sweetheart weekend was great because I got to hang out with a bunch of my Jewish friends and go to Comedy City. Friday night was awesome because I got to go to someones house and eat a Jewish dinner with a lot of my Jewish friends. We played games like chess and got to eat delicious desserts like cookies. I spent the night at that house with my friend Amit and we hung out with Andy, our friend from New York. The next day, I went to the BSA merit badge forum at the Church of the Resurrection and got training for planning an eagle project. The, I helped out with a mock trial case and was the defense attorney. My client was found guilty and I left with disappointment that I couldn't win that course case. Later that day, I was reunited with my Jewish friends and we went to ComedyCity and saw a lot of funny skits. On Sunday, I stayed home and did a bunch of my homework. I was pleased to see that the Patriots won the Superbowl!This was my Sweetheart fun filled weekend.
